Meet Our Team

Dennis Sullivan, MBA

Founder & CEO

Dennis is an experienced executive, entrepreneur, professor and credit union advocate. He has launched or turned around more than 100 products and businesses and enjoys turning ideas into thriving businesses that create value for business owners and those they serve. He is an associate professor of marketing and entrepreneurship at the Community College of Baltimore where he also serves as Executive Director of CCBC Center for Business helping students and alumni launch new businesses. He also serves on the faculty of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses in Baltimore. He is the recipient of the International Teaching Excellence Award granted to just two professors each year from among more than 1,000 colleges worldwide with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs. He also served as Lecturer at Johns Hopkins University. He is chairman of the CU Leadership Convention – a position he has held on and off for more than 20 years. When he is not working, he enjoys playing golf, travelling in his RV, spending time with his family, his dogs, and dreaming up the next big idea!

Maureen Eckman, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Maureen has a robust work history as an experienced accountant with a diverse skill set encompassing accounting reconciliations, financial analysis, tax expertise, controller & advisory services, budget management, and government correspondence. She has worked with start-up companies, as well as large & small for-profit and non-profit organizations, understanding the various stages of accounting operations. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated dedication and trustworthiness in handling financial matters. Her strong communications skills have allowed her to build & maintain excellent client relationships, while her data analysis capabilities have facilitated informed decision-making. Additionally, she has a proven track record of effective management, making her a well-rounded and accomplished professional in the field of accounting and finance.

Karina Mandell

Vice President of Operations

Karina is an experienced CEO, founder and business developer dedicated to fostering economic growth, innovation, and collaboration. As a Business Developer for the Baltimore Development Corporation, she led initiatives to attract, retain, and expand businesses and organizations to the area, creating inclusive opportunities. She serves as Chairwoman of the Baltimore Odesa Sister Cities Committee, where she champions international cooperation and spearheads humanitarian aid efforts for Ukraine. As CEO and Founder of Green Smart Cities, she pioneered sustainable urban development by integrating green technology and community-driven strategies. She developed the frameworks for partner/sponsor relationships and developed opportunities for collaboration at Hack Baltimore. Her expertise in economic development, sustainability, and international relations reflects her commitment to build resilient, equitable, and collaborative communities on a local and global scale. When Karina is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, caring for dogs while the owners are out of town, and taking on the next big adventure on her ever-growing bucket list.
